You are all set to start with the new beginnings and have decided to take the time out on a weekend to move everything. You have already told your friends about it, and they have all agreed to move the stuff, but does it guarantee that they will come? What if they have some other urgent matters to attend to? Even if they do come, it won’t assure you any safety as they are not experts. There are serious chances of damages and injury, and you can avoid that by hiring professional removalists or a day-labourer.

What Is A Day Labour?

A day-labour is in the similar field of professional removalists but has some limitations in their work. Professional removalists will take care of the entire moving process whereas a day-labourer will only assist you with loading, unloading and heavy lifting. If you hire a day-labourer, keep in mind that you still have to supply the tools and you have to rent the truck. Driving it to the new location is your responsibility as well. Day-labourers are just there to extend their hands with lifting and stuff. Majority of the day-labourers charge the hourly rate so get the estimated amount beforehand along with the time taken to move the items.

Are They Professionals?

Unlike the professional removalists, not all day-labourers are professionals and possess a certain set of expertise. You will find some teenagers or any random blokes that would be willing to move the stuff in exchange for money. Trusting them is your choice but keep in mind that you will not be paid in case any damages occur. Hire a day-labourer that is representing a professional moving company as they are licensed and insured to move the stuff. They are liable to be responsible in case of any accidents.

Tools And Equipment

Most of the day-labourers come empty handed as all they need are their hands to move the stuff. They trust their expertise and experience and tend not to carry any tools with them. In the majority of the cases, you would need to provide all the supplies required to move the heavy appliances. Truck rental, lifting straps, furniture dollies, ropes, moving blankets, etc. are some of the supplies you need to provide. Some day-labourers might carry a couple of tools, but they can also charge you more. Remember to enquire this beforehand.

Why Should You Hire A Day Labourer?

The best thing about hiring a day labourer is that you won’t do any damage to yourselves. While carrying these furniture around, it can be hard on your body and lead to some severe injury concerns. Not just that, you may also damage the goods as you have no expertise or experience in that matter. Hire the day labour and they will take care of everything.

In addition to that, day labourers cost much less than professional removalists. This is because the professional removalists are responsible for transportation, packing and other expenses whereas day-labourers charge only for a few hours and that isn’t too much either.

As day labour is basically a type of DIY, you have a lot of say in this matter. The work will be done according to your flexibility and timings will be your choice. You wouldn’t have to wait for days or weeks for the moving and can be done with the process pretty quickly.
